Before I share with you this project… I will admit I’m a bit of an organizational nut. I was way worse when my kids were younger, mostly just because there were so many of them and only one of me!
Now, with that being said, I’ve eased up a bit. But I still have a thing for binders. I have 5 of them. A financial binder (checkbook etc), a home binder, a holiday binder, and 2 binders full of (organized by category) household manuals.
Wait… I lied. I just remembered I have more in my closet! I have 2 personal binders that include My Favorite Articles and my Young Living business binder. Anyhooo…
So the awesome thing about having a sister that is not only a web designer, but a graphic designer as well, is that I make her design me stuff. And she puts up with me, while rolling her eyes, and gets it done in like 5 minutes. She really rolled her eyes at me when I told her I wanted her to design me a holiday binder. But I had a ton (ok 5) kids that all had different teachers, birthdays, etc to keep track of. And when you are not getting a lot of sleep because you have little ones, my brain was only half working.
Let’s just put it this way. This binder was created out of sheer desperation when it was the night before a Christmas concert for my kids, and I was searching through the dirty laundry trying to find clean enough pair of pants for them to wear. Why didn’t l plan ahead? Like I said, my brain was only half working at the time.
SO… here is what my sister Stephanie made for me.
Yes, I had her add what OUTFIT they would wear. Yes, I was that bad!
I made one page for my family and one for Bruce’s family.
Cute decorating ideas I would find went in the binder…
I don’t usually do Christmas presents for my kid’s teachers (just because December is crazy enough for me) but I do like to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day. One year Asher and I baked chocolate chip banana bread for all the teachers. Last year I took a picture of all the kids holding up a chalkboard sign that said “Best Teacher Ever” and then wrote a little note. Now that Asher is in high school though, we might dial it back to just the elementary teachers.
And the Christmas Concert dates and outfits. Where this idea all started from.
Just some organizational ideas for all you mamas out there! There are a ton of printables out there to choose from. Some of my favorite printables that I still use are from the website www.iheartorganizing.com. Check it out here.
